Creating our woodland copse

Together with P5 pupils from Gylemuir Primary, Friends of Gyle Park spent time planting a range of tree saplings to create a copse on the South side of the park.

Thanks to the Woodland Trust, we had a range of rowan, silver birch and wild cherry trees planted and Gylemuir Primary will help up to look after the trees as they get established over the next few years.

The sunny weather meant that the Friends of Gyle volunteers have also had an excuse to get out the water bowser and have been watering the saplings to ensure they are able to take root.

Thanks again to all of our junior volunteers!
